Frankreich 1975: Seyolo Zantoko ist Arzt und stammt aus dem Kongo. Als er einen Job in einem kleinen Kaff nördlich von Paris angeboten bekommt, beschließt er, mit seiner Familie umzuziehen. Dort angekommen treffen sie auf Dorfbewohner, die zum ersten Mal in ihrem Leben einem afrikanischen Arzt begegnen und alles tun, um den "Exoten" das Leben schwer zu machen.
